Getting involved

The success of the PA depends on parents like you, and there are lots of ways to get involved.

Many of our roles do not require you to be available during the day. You can help just once or, as regularly as your personal schedule permits either during the school day, in the evenings or at weekends.

There are many ways you can help with the fundraising efforts, some of which involve very little time or effort and all of which you will invariably find enjoyable and worthwhile.

Why volunteer with the PA?

• Raise funds to improve School facilities and equipment
• Offer your time, knowledge and skills to create opportunities for St. Olave’s students
• Get to know like-minded parents and make new friends

The most obvious way you can help is by attending social events we arrange or by supporting the raffles, thereby helping the PA – and the school – financially. We are always looking for new and interesting fundraising ideas, and warmly invite you to join in our fundraising efforts in whatever capacity you can.

Publicise our Mock Familiarisation Tests (held during May/June) amongst your friends and parents from your child's primary school. Volunteer to join the teams running the tests, most especially if you have training /qualifications in First Aid and/or handling children with special needs.

Attend the PA Committee meetings which are held at the school during the evening once every six weeks or so. All Parents/Carers are warmly welcomed to attend and help drive our fundraising efforts. The date and time of meetings is posted on the Calendar section of the school website. and encourage you to please come along to our PA Committee meetings who meet at the school for one evening every six weeks or so and are open to anyone who wants to join us and help drive our fundraising efforts. 

Become one of our PA Form Reps who also meet regularly (see calendar for details) to discuss issues with the School. If you would like to become involved with this forum, please drop us a line.

Help the PA provides refreshments (we are always looking for volunteers to help!) at various after school events including concerts and Parents' Evenings. If you can spare a couple of hours once or twice a year we would love to hear from you!
